Last night was Sam’s commencement at Exeter High School. Here are a few shots from the evening. { Just look for the good looking young man on crutches and lighting up the room with his smile. }
EHS Class of 2011. I have to confess, it was bitter sweet for me to see him with this group. While he certainly has made a few friends at EHS since our move in his junior year, I couldn’t help but think that three weeks ago, the group of his friends that he’s had since kindergarten graduated together at Cherry Creek High School. It made my heart drop a little. But of course, he’s not thinking about such things at that moment, so I tossed that thought right out feeling so grateful for the good kids surrounding him.
He was such a great sport hobbling onto the stage to receive his diploma.
The evening was filled with parental pride, soft and tender thoughts of the past and hope filled imaginations for the future.
Proud Father. Gage and Chase {who are to the right} had their own thoughts about what the future holds. Chase said the first few months of Sam being gone are really going to be hard. Gage sweetly asked Sam if they could have some sleepovers when he goes to college.
Caps thrown in the air. It’s done.
Where did the last 18 years go?
{ Congratulations, Sam-a-love. We are so proud of you! }
