Next to a family vacation, Young Women’s camp with our LDS young women’s organization is my very favorite week away from home.
The theme for our camp this year was “Treasure Seekers” based off the general youth theme for the whole church this year. Everything from the t-shirts to the decorations focused on seeking the real treasures in life – family, truth, loving relationships, and for our 7th years – seeking to minister.
This year, my friend Renee Kelly and I were the leaders for the 7th year leaders – the girls who have turned or are turning 18 this year.
We had a blast! So much so I almost felt guilty. You see, there are no certifications that need to be passed off. They’ve already spent the last 6 years learning how to start a camp fire, perform first-aid in the wilderness, basic water life saving, etc. And instead of hiking up a mountain, we trekked from the towels on the sand to the water at the beach. Real rough stuff.
The girls did do rock climbing which stretched their courage. They were awesome!
Here are a few images with my 7th year girls from the week.
Can’t wait for next year!
sounds like a great time, and great pics. Is that some camera trick to make that beautiful light, or is that just the light you guys carry with you?
